Ashok Kumar gets an Oscar
16th April 2009 - 1:00pm
After
a small time role in 'Taj Mahal', actor Ashok has got a big break as a
hero in a new film called 'Oscar'. The film is being directed by Pune
film institute graduate Krishna, while Shivu Belawadi is the producer.
The film was launched on Thursday at the Kanteerava studios..
Krishna says, the film is a super-natural romantic
love story and has nothing to do with the 'Oscar' awards. 'This title
has nothing to do with the Oscar awards. Yet the title is very much significant
as this film revolves around a book called Oscar. The hero of the film
is a writer and the hero writes a book called Oscar. I can't reveal much
more apart from this' says the director.
Krishna
is a graduate from the Pune film institute. He had made a short film with
the same story long back. This is his first feature film as a independant
director after working for films like 'Kodagana Koli Nungitha' and 'Shishya'
as an associate director.
Ashok said he was overhelmed by the support he
got during 'Taj Mahal' and will live upto everybody's expectations through
this film. Priyanka Bulgannavar of 'Marujanma' fame and Priyanka of 'Kabbadi'
are playing the heroines in this film. Narayanaswamy is the villain.
The film will be shot in a single schedule in places
like Bangalore, Mysore, Madikeri and Mangalore. Naveen Suvarna is in charge
of Camera and Abhiman is the music director.
