Holi for Ganesha chaturthi
26th July 2009 - 8:00am
Venkatesh
Prasad and Raagini starrer 'Holi' is all set to release on the auspicious
day of Ganesha Chathurthi next month. The director, Shankarlinga Sugnalli
who is currently busy with the DTS work is expecting to get the first
copy in the first week of August. Recently he had organised a press conference
to give more details about the film.
Though 'Holi' is Sugnalli's seventh film so far,
the director says this is the first time he is doing publicity for his
film. 'I have never concentrated much on publicity so far. But this is
the first time I am promoting the film. This is a competitive world and
I don't want to fall behind than others. For my previous films I had made
some compromises, but for this film, I have seen to it that there are
no compromises and the film has come out really well' says Sugnalli.
The director has based the story on a Thesis by
Dr. Prabhu. Like his previous films, this is also a film based on folklore.
Professor Hanneradumata has penned the dialogues.
'Veera Madakari' fame Raagini is the heroine of
the film. Raagini says she plays an innocent sister of a prostitute. What
all happens in her life forms the crux of the film. Unlike 'Veera Madakari'
Raagini doesn't have a glamorous role except for a song. 'I play a deglamorised
role in the film. The director has given a lot of prominence to my character.
That's what made me accept the film' says Raagini.
Hero Venkatesh Prasad said he plays a rough and
tough character in the film. Venkatesh Prasad's father Kodoor Padmanabh
produces the film along with handling the camera work.
