KFCC sets a trend - Achievers feted

Dr.Jayamala and team of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce has showed the grit and determination once again. A right thought and a right function in a right style indeed took place on Wednesday morning.

Those whom we have not seen for decades now actress Kanchana, Krishnakumari our Ashwathanna graced the function of KFCC at Abhimani convention center in Basaveshwaranagar, Bangalore. Actress Kanchana went to her school days and seeing the film of Saroja Devi's 'Kalyanaparisu'.

Dr.B Saroja Devi for receiving the life achievement award from the government of India was bit apprehensive because the 'Thavaru Mane' had not done any honor after receiving the coveted award. She was only one from South India to receive such award from President of India. When she received the phone call from Dr.Jayamala she was thrilled. On 27th of this month the scientist forum is honoring her. Addressing the mammoth attendance Dr.Devi said I would like to sit in our own Artist Association before I die. She thanked everyone for giving this memorable day for her in life.

Smt.Parvathamma Rajakumar and Khatta Subramania Naidu were the chief guests on this felicitation morning for 15 persons.

Dr. B Saroja Devi for lifetime achievement, Dr.K.S.Ashwath, Dr.Srinath for honorary doctorates, Girish Kasaravalli, Umasri, Basanthkumar Patil for 'Gulabi Talkies' that bagged honors at Osian Film festival (Rs.22 lakhs cash prize too), BS Lingadevaru and Ramachandra for Kada Beladingalu, Madhu Bangarappa for Kallarali Hoovagi (TS Nagabharana was not present as he was in USA), Mrs Shylaja Srikanth and Master Kishen for 'Care of Footpath', Dhanraj and Anand P Raju for Koti Chennaiah received the memorable mementoes of Shawl, jasmine garland, silver plate and fruit basket.

Dr.Jayamala expressed happiness for such an event taking place at the diamond jubilee of Kannada cinema and that too in her regime as President of KFCC. Girish Kasaravalli addressing on this occasion hoped that KFCC would take up more development oriented programs in future. Khatta Subramania Naidu the information minister did not forget to say the industry folks to formulate the revolving fund before Dasara festivities.

How come the KFCC advisers forget to mourn the recent deaths or offer garlands to the portraits of stalwarts like MP.Shanker.

Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa failed to turn up for the function. Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, Shruthi Mahender, Protima Devi, Vijayalakshmi Singh, Hema Chaudhary, Sunderraj, Sumithra, Chindodi Leela, Hamsalekha and others took part in the KFCC event.
