Prakash Belawadi - Back on silver screen
20th Oct 2008 - 10:00am
After
seven years of hiatus Prakash Belawadi the journalist turned theatre personality
a director in small and big screen is coming back with 'Garv' to small
screen. This time he is giving a different path to think for the small
screen audience from 'Illiruvudhe Summane' mega television serial based
on Smt.Saritha Kusmakar Desai novel.
'I don't want to talk about 'Garva' but I am happy it
is still in the minds of the people' said Prakash Belawadi outlining the
contents of his new venture for Zee TV Kannada. The mega television serial
is not because of the cooperation of person like Parameshwar of Zee TV
but the interest shown it is made for the channel. In the globalization
the reality cannot be forgotten. The idea of doing 'Illiruvudhu Summane'
came up from veteran KSL Swamy. Like how it is not accidental that Manirathnam
made his first film in Kannada and because of the taste of the audience
similar in the case of this project. This is an attempt to correct ourselves
said Prakash Belawadi on his return to small screen.
Mr Parameshwar Gundakal the Zee TV fiction head who was
formerly a film journalist feels Prakash Belawadi is not just good but
he is brilliant. I have seen the 10 episodes done so far. It is relevant
to the present day context and the novel has been updated. In what kind
of world we are living is explained here in this 'Illiruvudhu Summane'
that is hitting the screen from 30th of October at 8 pm in Zee TV say
Parameshwar. It is different from the 57 television serials on air strongly
feels Parameshwar.
The main force behind 'Illiruvudhu Summane' is KSL Swamy.
With this subject he has run from pillar to post selecting some of the
big actors to play the vital role. The destiny is so that today he is
asked to do the pivotal role. The patience, perseverance and power of
Prakash Belawadi is very good complimented Swamy. Even how I should take
breath he taught me said Swamy.
After screening of clippings of 'Illiruvudhu Summane'
(Sri Purandaradasa Dasa Keerthana) it was a powerful five minutes brush
with the serial KSL Swami had live. His non stop continuous delivery of
dialogue collecting tears and modulating the voice accordingly had the
spontaneous applaud from the journalists was something unique.
A Miditech Production based on 'Kashiyalli Kandaddenu'
by Saritha Kusmakar Desai 'Illiruvudhu Summane' stars KSL Swami, BV Radha,
Pallavi, Sumeru, Nanda Kumar, choodamani Shivaram, Harish Seshadri, Veena
Appaiay, Prakash Iyengar, Smitha chakravarthy, Gauri Dathu, Ravi Kumar,
Anand S, NC Anand, Sneha Koppanna, Aishika Hegde and Swathi Adiga.
