Buddivantha - movie review Title – ‘Budhivantha’ Real star Upendra is back to his roots of intelligent script and dialogues interspersed with lovely songs and glorious cinematography. When this film ‘Budhivantha’ is seen as an entertainer it also passes on good message to the greedy and luscious women. How they fall flat to affluence and reach a stage of sickness is explained in an entertaining Upendra style. Naan Avanalla Naan Avanalla is a synchronizing to the original script in Tamil (this is derived from Marathi stage play) ‘Naan Avanillai’ but the film is poles apart from the Tamil version. The rudeness and rashness there is polished here and made it very comfortable for the family viewing. Like seven wonders Upendra in seven different get ups – he is a brother, Panchamrutha, Ashok Mittal, Zakir Hussain, Samara Simha Reddy, Shyamprasad, Rajaneesh to give something worthwhile not to the women he goes behind. What is life he gives a lesson, what is our culture he addresses in the court of law, what is the duty of a woman and how she is treated in our society and how she should be to command respects and so on and on Upendra delivers fierce dialogues to counter the women and prove that he is not the one. In actual sense he is the one but in the court of law he is dare enough and intelligent enough to prove that ‘Naan Avanalla’. The ravishing style with the four women Suman Ranganath, Nathanya, Brinda and Saloni plus as Zakir Hussain with Pooja Gandhi the scoring points of ‘Budhivantha’ even though it looks episodic. But in the end giving a new transformation to why he did like this is also a real eye opener. Upendra is charging with his dialogue delivery. He has understood the requirement of his fans and like Raktha Kanneeru in this film also dialogue only takes the center stage and gives him an easy cake walk. Upendra in the role of Samara Simha Reddy is very powerful and as Panchamrutha he is punching. The five bubbly women are ravishing on screen. A song for each of them is well written, peppy and tastily stored in the camera by R.Giri. Vijay Anthony delivers only a few good tunes but retains from a few from the original. Ravi Vermana….. Chitranna Chitranna and Ra Raaraara Sarasaku raaraara…..are going to be the best in the coming days. Lakshmi as judge and Sridhar as brother of Upendra are fine selections by director Ramnath. The director supported well by Upendra and SV Rajendra Singh Babu given a wonderful preparation for the fans of Upendra. It is a belated happy birthday for Upendra via ‘Budhivantha’. Intelligence is at its peak. Worth a dekko once!
